Hopefully I am not repeating a simple and free fix I found for preventing bugs in the air cleaner but here is what I did: I replaced the stock air filter with a K&N and took the stock filter's metal screen off the underside of the element. You simply trim off the extra rubber they use as rivet heads to hold the screen in place and the screen pops off. Take the screen and place it long ways horizontally at the base of your steering head tube in front of the radiator and air intake and bend it / mold it to tuck it up tight over the air intake. Take four zip ties and use the holes that are at the top of the radiator brackets and up near the wiring routing and use the holes in the screen that were used to fasten it to the stock air filter and fasten it in place. The holes on the screen are in the perfect position to sinch it up tight. I had to bend the screen backwards a bit about a third of the way down so that it would lay flat on the radiator for the portion of it that is over top the radiator. I need to take pictures to make my words less confusing but if it makes sense it is free and I doubt I could have found a more neat installation if I had went and bought screening at the hardware store and fabricated something myself. It looks like it is supposed to be there aside from being silver but you don't see it unless you lean down and look for it. You could always spray paint it black but I did not to prevent the paint from closing down air flow through the screen. In the end the screen will have a bit of a curl going forwards at the top, the two upper corners of it are bent back a bit towards the tank and as I stated, there is a slight back bend about 1/4 of the way down on it to lay it flat against the radiator. I will get pictures when I get a chance.
