Honest I searched, even using Google :) Maybe I'm a bad Googler.

Which racks position side cases the lowest?

I have the factory rack and Kappa boxes on my '03 1000. The PO tweaked the rack somewhat. It still works fine, but only 3 of the 4 holes line up that attach to the flat rack behind the seat. I'm trying to justify new racks to the missus, by saying she'll be more comfortable. I'd like to keep the factory Kappa bags.

The Adventure Motostuff top rack seems like a no-brainer because you can adjust the top box back more than normal. I think the wife would definitely like that. Are their other top racks that do this?

I've always thought the side bags were kinda high on the factory racks. Shouldn't they be as low as possible, without compromising clearance, for a better Center Of Gravity? Also, I'm thinking they'd be easier to get a leg up and over. It seems the Motech racks hold the bags lower than Givi. Can anyone confirm this who's seen both? I've seen neither, just going by pics. Are there other racks that hold the bags lower? Should I not care about the height of the side cases?

Thanks in advance for your input.

I have the givi rack with the e360 sidecases.
My right case touches the ground at the same time as my right toe.
Want more passenger room? My advice is to move the cases back, not down.

I'm sure you can imagine what a bottomed sidecase would do to your bike.

Here's Givi bags on SW-Motech mounts. You can see why they need to be high.

He's already dragging pegs.
The problem: Can you get your leg over the bags mounting and dismounting vs dragging your pegs situation. I'm really limber for 53 but somethimes with luggage it can a problematic. It's more of a problem with winter gear and when it's really hot(it's the mid 90's in Houston , now). I mounted my ammo cans pretty low.
Whatever your choice will be, it will be wrong. So pick one and run with it.
