While I wait for my new relay to arrive in the post.... I'm a bit worried about the old one cutting out on me.

Is it possible to short this out and make it unswitched for a couple of days?

Connecting R/W and Y/R is the equivalent of throwing the relay. If the problem is the contacts making properly, that should work. It will bypass the side stand safety switch function though. I don't think the pump will run with the ignition off. Rather than carefully checking the wiring to see, you can check if the pump runs with the ignition off and put a switch on the jumper if it does.

Thanks for that - it's really just as a "get me home" fix in case the relay goes (giving FI error). New one arrives tomorrow so hopefully it won't have to do the fix.

Indeed - it's a classic C41 code. New relay just went in ten minutes ago. Will see tonight if the FI error recurs. I have a C44 and C49 as well - but they are not such a big deal.
