Anyone know where I can get shorter levers for an '02 Vee. Something along the lines of where the break point is on the OEM levers. Of course I could cut the originals, but looking for something cleaner. Thanks in advance.

Take it to a machine shop, and you can get them cut custom however you'd like and it will probably look good and cost very little.

I can tell you by experience that it's faster and easier to modify your brake and clutch levers by tipping the bike over onto its side on a hard surface. Presto chango! Shorter levers! Just clean up the ends with a file and sandpaper, and you're done!

Something I am going to try is buy the replacement levers from
amotostuff then shorten about an inch and use the hole on the bottom
off the ball to slide back on then weld back on. Clean up the weld
and should be good to go.
Wont have more than 50.00 bucks in the whole thing. Got this idea
from a guy on the thumper talk forum.

Three finger brake and clutch levers were all the rage for MX bikes 30 years ago.
Don't they make them anymore?
If not maybe it's time some young person came up with a brilliant idea and invented some. :D:D

You can get a set of Pazzo's for about $150 for the pair in the shorty version. They're very nice levers.

$150 is a lot of money to spend on something I could do myself, with a bolt cutter and a file. I broke off the tip of the brake lever when my Wee sat down and refused to get on a trailer; then the other week I clipped the ball off the clutch lever with a bolt cutter, to make it work with my Acerbis handguards. No complaints at all.

The smaller incremental reach adjust is a great feature, 5 year warrenty, steel bushing at the pivot and they fold.

And they look Bitchin.

Best price?

Anyone found an unbeatable price on the Pazzo levers? I really like the black with blue adjusters. Pazzo's website quotes $185 for the set + $10 shipping. Ouch.

ASV New Street Levers

Cheff - Your gunna will like them. My stock ('03) hand guards don't fit due to the thickness at the pivot. I just took them off for now and am going to try modifying them or buy some different ones. I don't really mind. They are comfy when really pulling on hard braking. I have shorty's in Black.

Support you local dealers.

I figured that would be the case. Any word on what hand guards fit with these levers? Once I get mine I will look in to modifying the stock ones or find a suitable replacement.

Any hand guard that doesn't mount to the mastercyclinder as stock does. Acerbis, Powermadd etc... are the options. I like the simplicity of the stock, Powermadd are second choice. Acerbis you have that barkbuster type bar with the plastic pieces. I have the fatty bars so need the different clamp, blah blah blah so will cost me more $.

I don't know if the stock, older model hand guards are any different in the mount area v. new model (attach at the bar end also). Will be at a dealer tomorrow to check.

The levers should be here tomorrow. I will let you know if they are an issue with the '06 guards. If it is I will get some plain aluminum Maier guards like I have on my XR. I like the look of the aluminum barkbuster, and if I need the weather protection I can always add the plastic.

The new model stock hand guards have more space around the pivot area to accommodate the thickness of the ASV. I think they will work with no modifying. :D

Cheff - Did you receive and install your ASV levers?
