Shift lever options.

I have a 2014 DL650 and have added a Cosmo footpeg lowering kit and IMS Super Stock footpegs. I'm having difficulty getting my foot under the shifter with larger boots. I adjusted the shifter as high as it will go, going any higher results in not being able to shift from neutral to 2nd. I also replaced the rubber bit on the end of the shifter with some hose that has a smaller OD so I gained some space there. Was wondering if there are any reasonable options to either lengthen the shift lever or gain some more height. I'm aware of the SW Motech adjustable shift lever but don't really want to spend $200. Also saw this video
which looks like it would work but looks like it would require cutting up the gen 2 lever since it's one piece and the toe piece doesn't screw on like the gen 1.

I ended up buying the SW Motech shift lever. It's the same length as the stock lever in the shortest position. Also the the lever seems to have a sharper bend near the pivot so you can adjust the lever higher without it hitting the foot peg bracket. Currently have it in the longest position and my size 11 Corozals fit easily under the lever with the IMS Super Stock footpegs.
