I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to get close to setting sag without a helper. I realize this isn't optimal and I might have to recruit my wife for the actual tape measurements but has anyone been able to lift the bike using the side stand? I had an FZ09 which I could lean onto its side stand enough to get the wheels off the ground. I realize the FZ weighs 417 lbs and this is 502lbs. Has anyone tried this on the 1000?

I was able to get someone to help. We were able to lift the bike off the wheels by leaning on the side stand. Measured everything up and I'm 195 with gear. Stock settings on the front had me at 40mm sag. Rear I had to go 4 clicks from full hard on preload. At 41 mm now. Once I ride on my commute I will start the process of dialing the suspension in.

Keep in mind that the new bike's suspension will free-up with use, and you may have to re-do the settings. I could not get any consistent measurements on the front at first until it freed up.

Yes, I can easily lever my Vee's front or rear tire off the ground.

It's a tall bike, so you actually have more leverage.

Rode today after setting sag and I must say it made a significant difference in the handeling of the bike. Turns in better and absorbs the bumps nicely. Just going to go up or down a notch or 2 on the font rebound and see how that changes the ride. Very impressed I can get so close with the stock suspension.
