hi david, i think i will be able to go next sunday. one change in the route might be to take 113 to merrimac and cross the wis. there. then you could hook around to 78 and loop back that way.jeff

Great...

Should be a real good time, I am looking forward to a Strom Gathering.

I am sure the route is a suggestion and there will be flexibilty once we are all together. I will only be following the tail lights in front of me, and I love this part of the state.

See you Sunday.....

I'd love to be there, but I promised a few months ago to camp this weekend with my girlfriend and her kids. Now we've added on a friend of her's and 2 more kids.. :x

I can't decide if I should take a handgun and one round, or a lot of alcohol.. By Sunday, one of the options will be needed...

Have a great ride!!

great day,

Well we had 4 V-Stroms show up, even though everyone but RackWrangler drove by the BP station because the fog was so thick. In fact rain gear was called for as the air was wet, the roads seemed fine though....

After introductions and some bike talk we took off north and west. Eventually following WIsixfitty off of 16/60 and on to some county highways... V, K, P. and Y are the ones I remember.

We stopped for some gas and to remove the rain gear in Sauk City. Feeling cooler now we head up 12 and turn west on to PF. This road was the highlight of the ride, we twisted our way enjoying emptiness of the area.

We did need to slow down while we past a get off scene. There was a rider down, the police were there, and it looked like they had her leg covered in ice. Always sobering to view something like that.

Picking up the pace again we wound our way into New Freedom. There is a 90 degree turn that caused some creative cornering by some of us... including a display of what the V-Strom can do.

After a nice recovery, we stopped in New Freedom and had lunch a litlle place you can only in out of the way places. The places you come across if you dare to turn right and get of the main highways...

The cheeseburgers where tremendous, and the omlet that one of the guys order was huge.

After lunch the turn around was discussed...
. Basically we stayed with RackWrangler's route through the state park(Devils Lake). I had never been through there, while crowded it was very scenic and twisty.

The four of us stayed together thruogh Merrimac, where WIsixfitty went his own way.

UtahJ, RackWrangler and myself took the ferry across the river, and over to 39/94/90 and slabbed it home.

Thanks for calling for this ride RackWrangler, I had a great time. It was also good to see other V-Stromers. Look for the next ride and let's see if we can get more out.

I ended up adding 345 miles today, and maintained 38 mpg, (not bad for me)....

Too bad I do not keep up on these threads. That is some of my turf there. Lodi & Waunakee. I could have joined you, but not on a Strom since it has sold, but I do have an Aprilia Mille that I am considering.

Nice report and pics. Just keep it up and I'll be Strommin again before I know it. I really like the Aprilia but seeing the Stroms on the ferry, a ride I took often, really makes me miss the Strom.

Thanks/
