I met a guy in the local mechanics shop today as I was looking at some Pro Tapers who has a Scotts Stabilizer NIB that he bought for his 2001 KTM 300 and never installed. he said is is a weld on post (whatever that means) and would sell it to me for $80.00. Can I make this work for my Wee? Pros? Cons? Possiblities? Greywolf?

Scott's Steering Stabilizer can be moved from bike to bike, as I understand it. You would just need to buy the mounting bracket for the Wee. And $80 is a hell of a deal if it is infact a Scott steering stabilizer.

I checked Scotts Performance website. Is this just the weld on mount? If it is, then no, it will not work. If it's the complete kit, then you could probably just do without the mounting kit that comes with it, and purchase the one made for the Wee.

So this is bad: 2001 KTM 300 Stabilizer Weld On Only

This is good: 2001 KTM 300 Weld On Complete Kit

This is what you'll need: DL650 Mount Kit Only. This is for a 2007. I don't know what year you have. FYI: Please update your signature or profile. It helps when you ask questions and don't include your bike details.

You may also need a new link arm thingamabob, as the website says some bikes require different links.

I wait to be corrected by Greywolf.

I think the off-road Scotts stabilizer damps only when steering away from center. The road model damps both away and toward center. You can check with Scotts Performace Products to be sure.
