Sargeant VS Seat concepts High

Anyone had or rode on both? Pros and cons? I have a factory seat and I’m debating about installing a kit on the factory one. I think it would be nice to be higher.

I had a Sargent and now have a Seat Concepts regular height. At 6ft tall, I would not want a taller seat - I ride with it in the low position.

I’m 6ft 4 inch, I’ve got SW Motech lowering pegs and I have Adventure techs peg lowering kit coming. I’m going to try this setup first before I make a decision.
I put a Saddlemen seat on my bike about 8k miles ago and really like it, one of the best aftermarket seats I've bought, all things considered (have owned Sargent and Corbin on more than one bike each).

I'm 5'11" but with fairly long legs, the Saddlemen seems to be about an inch taller than stock, I can still just barely flatfoot both feet in riding boots, and appreciate the extra leg room. It's only an issue when occasionally swapping bikes with riding buddies who are a little bit shorter than me as they have a hard time with the height.

I installed the Seat Concepts High on my 2018 DL1000 towards the end of last season and immediately liked it. I am 6'3" with a 34" inseam. I put on a peg lowering kit when I bought the bike, and with the seat my knees definitely appreciate it.
The seat itself is quite firm, but it has softened up a bit and I anticipate it will break in more over time. I only have about 2000 km's on the new seat.

I haven't tried a Sargent, mostly because as I constantly tell my spouse, "I am frugal".......she has a different word of course. However I have not regretted the Seat Concepts so far.

If you do go with the SC and install it, do yourself a favor and pick up an air stapler, it makes the install much easier.

I am 6’4” and have a 34 inch inseam. I will try and the combo I’ve got. I am interested in trying one because either way I’ll be able to sell it after. How are passenger accommodations with the seat concepts seat?

I have never had anyone on my bike with me, so I can't answer that.
Where are you located? I am in Barrie ON and if your close you can take a look at it. I just have the bike taken apart while I am installing some bar risers, but am hoping to have it back together in the next couple of weeks.
I’m in Sask, no where remotely close lol.

no, no your not. Good luck on your setup though, I'm sure you will like anything other than the stock seat.
Never rode on the stock seat but I might pull it out of the basement and try it for the hell of it.

My 1st 2014 Strom had a Sargent on it when I bought the bike. I rode with that seat for at least a year or so...& even transferred it to my next Strom (anuther 2014). I also installed the AdvTech footpeg lowering kit with the Motech ION adj pegs in the low setting & was pretty comfy....I thought.
Then I found a used Seth Lamm tall seat which had slightly firmer foam than the Sargent...wider too.
That seat ..with the lowered pegs was a perfect setup for me at 6'2" 32" legs & 275lbs

NOTE: I also owned a 2013 DL650 which had a Seat Concepts Tall on it...& the AdvTech footpeg kit/Motech ION pegs. This setup was pretty similar to the 1000 Seth Lamm but without the extra width.

Lastly....the bike I was comparing the Stroms to all aong was my 2014 Super Tenere (Ten #3 actually).
The Teneres riding position was justa bout perfect for me without doing anything except swapping the seat for a Seat Concepts std kit with a better shape.

I'm just across the lake from you in Sutton. I'd like to have a look at that seat someday. I wanted to get one but didn't want to ruin my almost new stock seat, and couldn't readily find a used pan, so I bought a Suzuki Tall seat instead.

I had to take the tank and front plastic off to install a longer brake line for some ROX risers I installed. Once I get it going I'm sure we can find some time for you to take a look. I tend to forget to check the forum all the time, but I will let you know when I'm out and up your way.
