So I got a 05 Wee from iamsmiling. Forks are buggered.
I got them off today and will call David Moore tomorrow to see if he does forks.
I saw Italian made forks for about $115 plus shipping.
Anyone have experience with such replacements?
I've got a salvage title on the way from DMV so I'm cool with that.
So the question is has anyone got a front fender available?
I'd hate to part out a perfectly workable Wee because of bent forks.
These are such great bikes, a little cosmetic damage shouldn't keep them off the road.

Shipping pricey, but a day ride isn't. Meet me half way?
Where you be in the vast Central Cal?

So I find Italian made fork tubes for $148 plus shipping or China made for $120 plus shipping.
Any thoughts on possible quality differences?

The difference could be the quality of the steel alloy or the quality of the chrome plating that runs through the seal. If the retailer of the Chinese tubes has a great return policy, maybe give them a try and let us know how they work.

Well bunkys, I bit the bullet and called Sasquatch and ordered a set of forks from him with seals so I can get the beast on the road.
The forky dudes will cost as much or more than the purchase price.
With so much on the internet uncertainty becomes a problem.
But, I'll have a 34K mile 05 Wee that only need a few more farkles. Don't tell my wife.

OK, 21" wheels. You set up the Go Fund ME!
This was a low cost project, I thought. As Chester Riley used to pan, "What a revoltin' development this turned out to be."
Still have to get a few handle bar bits.
Then If I wanna go touring, saddle bags and a frame to hold them.
But, it's keeping me out of watching the conventions on telly.:wink2:

My Forks finally showed up on the door step. Installing them on the bike they went into the triple triple tree with a minimum of interference. I guess the bike is OK.
Just Yay. Now I can proceed with more expense of other bugger things, like the levers.
I heard for the horrors or a buggered top end of the workings.
This will be the least expensive purchase of a bike other than the Harley Rapide I stole from my brother. Even if it is a Salvage.
