Hello, looks like it was a good weekend to explore,,,,,we did a short loop while we were at Dungog this weekend.

Once we turned left at Salisbury the road was dirt with unfenced paddocks, luckily all the cows were seeking shade in the heat of the day.
We came to a T junction at Allyn river road..... right headed into the barrintons or left would take us to Gresford, we had a mix of bikes, Strom, KTM and road sportsters, so it was off towards Gresford to get back on the bitumen after Eccleston. This trip was a good short mountain ride.... if you are keen for water crossings and more dirt then follow the Allyn river road into the Chicester state forest. The bitumen from Gresford to Maitland vis Morpeth is road bike paradise with good roads and pubs !!!

Someone tracked our progress here is the pic.

Yes it is good country out that way ML. I notice on the map you've got 3 bars of Optus signal?!? :jawdrop: Surely this must have been at home and not while you were on the ride.

:cheers2:

Yes the back roads around that way have some good "camel humps", I used to live around there a few years ago, we came home on Monday via the coast and the old Gosford highway, the phone/gps tracker ran out of batteries at berowra waters here's a pic of the route. If you come down the coast outside the school zone times its OK.
