Hi there,

I bought some Rox Offset Bar risers 1.25" to put on my 2012. i'm about half way through and I think i've got brake line issues. I thought I'd read that for this size brake lines weren't an issue but perhaps i read wrong?

Perhaps existing brake lines are only o.k. if risers are installed for added reach not less reach? here are some pics. Is there somethign I'm missing? thanks in advance!

I have a different brand on my 2013 which are 1'' rise and 3/4'' rearset and they fit perfectly fine. Most info on here will mention that up to a 2'' rise should work, if you reroute your cables a bit.

I have a 2012 650 with the same rox risers and I went to a hydraulic shop and had the front line made 1/1/2" longer. Its a bit of work, you need to take the old line in and also the fitting that goes into the distribution block under the triple tree. I found the front brake line was binding lock to lock even after cutting all the zip ties. The clutch side cables and wiring I just rerouted

Adventure tech also sells a longer front brake line. here are some photos of the throttle cables and switch gear routed to the back of the forks.

From this picture is looks like you have the incorrect risers for you handle bar diameter.

Here they are, with the spacers included. it’s a bit odd, because they don’t look like they’re mating very well, even though they are torqued down. Anyway, I was Carl indicated it looks like longer brake lines are required so I will be putting this on hold for the time being thanks everyone for your replies.

I have a 2" Rox riser on my 2013. I added a longer brake line extension, but with a bit of rerouting was able to use the existing wiring.

The included spacers do the trick for 7/8" bars. If you havent already done it, make sure to tighten up bolts so you have the same gap front and back on the riser & equal torque. That way they are loaded equally .I had 22mm risers on my Vee and did not have to add extensions, etc. But based on long ride comfort, changed to 3.5" pivoting Rox, whereby I then had to add the AdventureTech front brake and & clutch extension kit rather than the full front to back kit for both. The brake lines from Galfer are better braided lines than OEM. I also had to drop the forks & reroute cables behind the triple tree. Now all is great and so are the ergonomics. Safe riding to you!!!

Generally speaking, you can go up 1" without changing anything. You can go up 2" or 3" by using a 2" longer brake top line and some rearrangement of the throttle and clutch line on a DL650.
