Rode 30 feet today

Well! I rode two motorcycles 30 feet each today. Now, that may not sound like a big deal, but the last time I saw them they were 5000 kms west of here. That was two months ago. Our container arrived yesterday and Customs were there today to open it. We got the truck out, got the bikes out of the truck and put them back in the container. Temporarily, of course. It was about 1*C and snowing.

We're not afraid of no damn snow! :D Mind you, that picture wasn't taken here today, but sort of similar.

So you are not coming 5000km back west, and the new name will be just "slov" ? ;)

Yes, I suppose you're quite correct. One way ticket and all that! 😁

Yes, really hoping to avoid this in the future. Hard to find the truck, let alone a motorcycle!

That first photo looks like the boat landing on Sherry's Arm of Pokegama Lake right off Cty Rd 17. Am I right?

HEADS UP!!
I like snow in moderate quantities. You guys over achieve in the snow department. It’s in the 50f range here in the middle of the US.

Yeah, I'm hoping for less snow and shorter winters over here in southern Slovakia. 5*C (~42*F) here at the moment. Just a few flurries yesterday. My pics were Nova Scotia snow.

Congrats on your move slovcan👍, being literally in the middle of Europe you'll now have access to some of the best riding roads in the world (including many mountains in central Slovakia), and quick access to beautiful Mediterranean vacation destinations. Also many legendary F1, MotoGP, WRC venues near by. :)
Once they stop this nonsense war, Europe will become a much safer and better place to retire. Without getting "too political" do you have much concerns considering your proximity to Ukraine?

See? Now I don't like all that deep snow piling up around houses and front doors and driveways. I'm hoping with all my tax dollars being dumped into "fixing" "global climate change", they can put a stop to that.

And @slovcan, you pulled your bikes out of the storage container just to get a little snow on them, then put them back in? Like a winter wash? You should have at least rode them around the block a couple of times! ;)

You are 100% correct!!
Only a couple miles from home.
Look out for snow sliding off of the roof & putting you in the hospital

Yup, right on all counts. Been to the F1 race at the Hungaroring, Brno isn't very far for Moto GP, Bulgaria is a favourite vacation destination for a lot of folks - Croatia, too, but getting pricey, Vysoky Tatry (High Tatra Mountains) big thumbs up for great bike roads. Ukraine? Not concerned. The economy is fucked here like everywhere in the world because of Covid and the dirty little war. But, we are surrounded by NATO and a member. My ride loop planned for Ukraine, Black Sea, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and home is going to have to wait a bit. The one to Finland & Scandinavia will come first.

Yeah, I wish I could have. We (me and a friend) had to unload all the stuff packed around the truck to get it out, then get the bikes off the truck in the flurries. Pretty pooped to try riding around on slippery ground. Soon, though, SOON!

Oh yeah, I pulled a lot of snow off the roof after that picture.

True, there is no good or bad time to do things in life... and if you wait for the perfect conditions, you might expire while waiting ;) ...so good for you, it was a Big move for you and your family, but I'm sure it wasn't done on impulse.
We'll just have to keep our Canada going "without you" :ROFLMAO:
