Was about to take the Vee out for a ride when I noticed road and highway crews spraying surfaces with the low temp mixtures to prevent icing I'm assuming because they are calling for rain tomorrow.

My question is : Has anyone ever ridden on this stuff? What effects can I expect in terms of traction issues?

I ride in it (Brine) all the time. When wet it's like a wet surface, when dry its like a dry surface. Nothing special.

Just realize that this time of year there is lots of sand and crap on the roads. Be very aware of it especially when making right turns at stop signs or traffic lights as it tends to build up there.

At least you are not thinking your bike will melt ....it won't. I ride in it as well and just be careful of traction. Cold tires etc. It's not like sand ( which is nasty on a hard surface ).

Tom has far more experience with it.
