I understand that this is short notice, although would anyone care to ride tomorrow? I am planning on heading out of Green Bay up into the UP, with a destination of Lake Superior and Sault Saint Marie, lunch in Mackinaw and back to Green Bay.

PM if there may be interest.

Thank you,

Kevin

We just got back from there!
Left on the thursday 12th from Milwaukee, stayed in Escanaba, then Sault Ste Marie, then Mackinaw City, then Cadillac, then took the Muskegon Lake Express Ferry back to milwaukee Monday!
Great trip!
It was me and my wife on the back. Let me know if you have any questions. That was our first time up there and just kinda made up plans as we went...

It is nice riding up there. I go up at least once or twice a year. I'll be going up in a couple of weeks. Spend a week or so, probably more this year, picking blueberries and, riding. I think this year me and my riding buddy who lives there are going to do a trip around Lake Superior. We'll take our time and enjoy the ride.
Always come loaded with blueberries/huckleberries.

I've ridden in the UP once a year for the last 3 years. A few things I've learned:

- Michigan's H-58 (Munising to Grand Marais) is one of my favorite roads to ride, ever. Miles and miles of moderate twists with halfway decent sight-lines and a pretty good road surface. Plus it runs right through Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

- I love the little town of Grand Marais. There's a large campground (probably 200+ spots) right in town, and tent-only sites are inexpensive. Nice little harbor with a great view of Lake Superior.

- I enjoy riding lakeshores, and I've circled both Lakes Michigan and Superior. In the UP, the Lake Superior is far -- ahem- superior.

- When it's 6:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning and you're riding the flat, straight, open stretch of highway into Sault Ste. Marie, keep your speed in check, or you may get the opportunity to meet one of Michigan's Finest. DAMHIK.

And when is the last time you saw a patrol car with a red light in the middle of the top? You will there.
