I recently noticed a change on my 08 Vee that someone concerns me.

I'm getting to stop for a red light or a stop sign, and shift down as I get to my intended stop, putting the bike into neutral.

Sometimes, the rev remains high (around 2000/2500). The only way to get it to drop back to normal (1400-1500) is to engage the gear, release the clutch a little then go back to neutral.

any ideas?

Right. The Vee spec is 1100-1300. Set it at a point in that range that doesn't cause stalling or hanging at over 2000 before coming down.

If your revs stays low and only sometimes goes high when stoped, it is probably the TPS (thottle position sensor). I have a Vee and it starts to do this same thing when I tried to adjust this sensor, so I needed to adjust it again to correct it.

We have some topics here in this forum talking about this sensor and how adjust it.

This doesn't fit the TPS situation. Setting the idle too high and having having it hang at 2000-2500rpm on the way down is classic behavior. Getting the idle set properly fixes it.
