Hi!

So, I ordered a chain with a rivet master-link from Volar (I know... cheap, crappy, Chinese stuff - I was in a pinch!), but it included everything except for the little packet of grease to put in the o'rings.
Now, can I use the general mechanic grease (I actually have a waterproof trailer grease), or do I need special chain o'ring grease?

Thanks guys... I've been stumped for a while and don't know where to buy "o'ring grease" - if that is what I need.

Use the best grease you got - besides, that chain won't be on there for long.....:jawdrop:

Use the best (any) grease you got, you'll be fine provided you really goop it up - once those o-rings are on, that's it for the lubing, so do it right the first time - besides, that chain won't be on there for long.....:jawdrop:

Trailer bearing grease is high heat, high load and synthetic "rubber" friendly. S/B a good alternative.
