Any stromers in the Orange Co. area? Looking for some folks to ride with now that I have relocated due to work. Like the long weekend trips camping or days rides as well. Looks like a lot of great winter rideing down here in SoCal!

I'm not too far away in San Gabriel valley. It's a freeway slog for me to join you on Hwy 74 and east or for you to go north to the mountains up here.
Just too much civilization here! Once you get to the twisty stuff though fun can be had.

I was just in Palm Springs last week and had a free day so I rented a Goldwing. Here the route I took (Got lost at least once)

Palm Desert Visitor Center to Palm Desert, CA - Google Maps

I must say that S6 to Palomar observatory is simply one awesome ride. With the wee you should be able to ride the Nate Harrison Road which looks incredible, but it was dirt so I couldn't take the wing.

74 to Ilylwild was another great road. One of the best banked roads I've ever been on.

I'm sure you'll miss central Oregon, but you'll be able to ride all winter down there.

Have fun.

On the Palomar thing, go up the East side. Long sweepers and a good run and then terrorize yourself coming down the south side with all the twisties. In any case Mothers has some good food or did last time I was there.
Or go the other way!
San Diego County has some great roads!

Thanks Mad one I'll do for sure as it comes close to where I'm currently living, to bad we did'nt get a chance to ride, However the good news is I did'nt sell my place in Lapine or Woodburn for that matter. So when the weather turns in Spring I'll be back to the stomping grounds for Vacation riding CO. For that matter will be hitting Paulina with the sleds in January! 92 Degrees today, in November, unbelieveable here!! No puttin the Vee up for winter here.............:hurray:

One my old buddies from the BMW club just got a buncha us out to Anza Borrego for a couple days recently. He and I reserved a couple camp sites. We had a rotating crew of 16 folks. Some came Friday and some came on Sat as others went home. Weather was perfect.
Palm Canyon is a decent place to camp. Montezuma's Grade (S22) is a fun filled 12 miles. Twisties with a distracting view to challenge you.
On Hwy 76 a couple miles east of Pala is a little Mexican food place, Jilbertos. Good food. There is another in Borrego Springs that we frequent. Actually several of the Casinos have good eateries too.

With our winter settling in most guys wouldn't be too fond of high country meeting.
I do get to Newcombs on Hwy 2 most Sunday morning but the Sleepy heads in their trundle beds are still suffering from the night before at dawn.
Any y'all in So Cal, Los Angeles area, not riding up San Gabriel canyon (hwy 39) and Glendora Mtn road are missing some fun twisties.

Nate Harrison is a pretty tame dirt road. Should be no problem if you have any non-pavement experience at all....or just take it at your pace.

Ditto on the others mentioned & ad Black Canyon dirt road 'tween Ramona and the 79 East of Santa Ysabel....if you get that far from home.
