Other than to say the courses are a good thing, mo. But you could look up MSF and see what's close. I'm in LA are and imagine there would be more than one offered in the general area. Pacific Safety Center | Motorcycle Safety Program
is what I found for san diego search. Only took a moment to find
Yeah that is the only one that I was able to find as well. The advanced course sounds pretty cool but I was hoping for some personal info from those that have taken the courses. Have you taken a MSF before?
+1 on the Pacific Safety program. I took the MSF beginner class with them and am considering the advanced class. By the way, since you are in San Diego let me know if you would like to get together for a ride.
The MSF's Experience Rider Course is just a quick rehash of some of the basics from the BRC. Probably a decent basic skills tuneup for infrequent or re-entry riders, but certainly not "intermediate to advanced".
To answer your question, yes, I've taken the courses. They are a help and worth the effort. Any track schools you make take will be beneficial too. Been there done that.
I have no desire to go fast on a track again but the experience is also worth the money.

After riding for nearly 10 years, I decided last year to dedicate myself to some form of professional rider training each year.
I took the MSF basic course before I got my first bike, so I figured my best choice last year would be the MSF's next level up -- known as either the Basic Rider...
What the pressures does everyone use off road, gravel, sand, mud. I have gen 1 VS 1000's and run Shinko E-705's and am trying the Mitas E-07+ Dakars for Morocco in the spring.
I ride from solo to two-up with full travel kit for months at a time. I have been working with different pressures with...
Embarrassed, frustrating , got int to this bike to soon and I'm over my head ?
I can practice low speed maneuvers and do well, 6m circles, 4.5 x 3m slalom, emergency stops
and yet I keep running into situations where I do not switch quickly enough from regular riding to low speed riding and...
