I've got the tires , I've got the tools. Just looking at my bike and wondering, with the bike up on the center stand will the rear wheel clear the fender when you go to pull it out?
I really don't want to remove the fender.

The rear wheel can be removed and replaced with the rear fender in place. I've done it many times.

It will clear but you will need to remove the axle and spacers entirely. Then tie off the caliper to something. Lastly pull the bottom of the tire to one side to lean the wheel kind of and it will roll out diagonally from under the fender. It will not just roll straight back.

Thank you all, I will be changing the tires myself in a few weeks, when I can find the time. I really should pop for a manual.

I have seen the zip tie method on YouTube. I am definitely going to try it. I've got a Harbor Freight just around the corner, I will run over and pick up a big bag of cheap zip ties. Can't wait to try it.

I can vouch that the zip tie method works. It actually took me a little longer to change using the zip tie method but I wanted to do it without the use of any hand tools it worked perfect. Tire went on over the rim very easy without the use of any tools at all. I didn't try it on the rear tire but I'm guessing it would work just as good. At home I wouldn't use this method because I'm much quicker changing tires with tools however if were away from home with limited tools this method would be great!
