Hello all. I believe this will be my first post since I joined last spring. I have been acquiring info here since I purchased my new to me '07 DL1000 last May. Now I need some info. I have been trying to no avail to order some springs from Race Tech for a couple of weeks now. E-mails, faxes, phone calls have been to no avail so now I will try to source the shock spring locally from Eibach. I noticed that with the Race Tech spring one needs some sort of collars. Is that because their spring (which I believe is Eibach) is wider than the stock one? If so, does anyone know what the actual ID of the stock spring is and if Eibach actually makes a spring that is the right ID because even if I do source one locally I probably would still need to deal with Race Tech for the collars and I definitely do not what to do that.

Apologies for the long winded message and thanks in advance.

I've purchased a couple of Eibach rear shock springs for my DL1000 through the Race Tech rep here in Oz.

The Eibach spring dimensions recommended for the Vee are:

Free length: 8"

Inside diameter: 2.25"

The dimensions when ordering are expressed as 0800.225.0650. The 0650 figure represents the spring rate ie 650 lbs/inch or whatever is suitable for you.

You'll need 2 spring adaptor collars and a spacer which I obtained from RT.

Cheers,

Tony

If you order from Race Tech you get an Eibach spring in the mail.

Indeed. I just ordered one from the local Eibach rep for a fraction of the RT price and with far better customer service. I just hope I won't need those adapters RT recommends because I really do not want to deal with them and their terrible customer service.

If the sizes are as I quoted your going to need the adapters unless some one else supplies adapter collars or you can get them machined up, in which case it'll probably be more expensive than RT.
