Discussion Starter #1 (Edited)

I am looking for a source for a replacement rear brake pad retaining clip (part of #14 in the fiche photo), but it has no part number of its own.

Does anyone have one lying around? Does anyone actually know what it does?

Many thanks!

It provides the steel interface between the aluminum caliper and steel plate of the pads, so they can move without gouging the aluminum.
There was another thread somewhere and someone found that same part available for some honda or kawasaki that used the same caliper.???
A dab of grease on the back will hold it in place during assembly.

Quite a lot of bikes use the same rear pads:

This widget sure does look familiar in the 2007 Kawasaki Z1000 diagram:
https://www.onlinecycleparts.com/oemparts/a/kaw/500b5564f8700223e479684a/rear-brake
It's the first part listed, for just $6.40,

#9 on this diagram for a 2014 Honda CB1100:

$6.38

I can't guarantee these are the same part, but they're cheap and sure do look like it... I'd say gamble the few bucks and let us know.

I'd be curious as to whether anyone ever ordered and verified that those part numbers I posted work.
