Hey, I bought a second hand 2016 DL1000A couple of weeks ago and I'm planning on doing the maintenance on my own. I've been searching for the correct service manual and I can't figure out which is the latest manual that covers this model.

This is what I've found so far:

Part numberApplies toNotes
99500-39500-01E (maybe European)DL1000A L4 - unknownwas available in Europe on motorcyclespareparts.eu
99500-39500-03E (US version)DL1000A L4 - L5 (maybe depending on print date)was available in America on partzilla.com
99500-39503-01E (maybe European)DL1000A L4 - unknownavailable in Europe on motorcyclespareparts.eu
99500-39503-03E (US version)DL1000A L4 - L8, DL1000XA L8available in America on partzilla.com
99500-39504-01Eunknown - unknownavailable in Europe on motorcyclespareparts.eu

partzilla.com doesn't currently ship to Europe
motorcyclespareparts.eu redirects 99500-39500-01E to 99500-39503-01E
motorcyclespareparts.eu states that 99500-39503-01E replaces 99500-39500-01E but doesn't mention anything about 99500-39504-01E

Does anyone know what the difference between 99500-39503-01E and 99500-39503-03E is, or what 99500-39504-01E is?

The part number shown by my go to USA site https://www.genuinesuzukimanuals.com/ is 99500-39503-03E
However you should remember that different countries may have minor changes based on local legislation etc.
I would ask a local Suzuki dealer for confirmation.

Thanks for the pictures @StromTramper. So it appears that 03E versions are for US, so I'm assuming 01E are for Europe or international.
@Brockie most of the dealerships I contacted around here aren't very helpful when it comes to figuring out what the latest service manual that applies to AL6 is. The only thing I was told was that they can order 99500-39503-01E for me for €150, which is weird considering it's available for half the price on other sites.. They also said they can't order 03E, which reinforces the idea that 03E is US specific. What's the Australian service manual part number? 01E or is there a different one?

Would be great if anyone with any other manual versions could post a similar photos of the applicable models. I've edited my post to reflect the new info.

I forgot to grab the photos, but my manual is part number 99500-39500-03E. It only claims to cover L4 & L5 (since it was published in 2015). Incidentally, the 2015 info is just blue "supplement" pages in the back of the book.

I would guess that the 3950x indicates the version...?

Also, there are wiring diagrams for the US bike and another for "other" (maybe also a third option). Not sure how universal the rest of the info is for different countries.

I can double check things and snap some pictures on Monday.

Interesting, so maybe the part number changes with major new versions, 39500 = 14-16, 39503 = 14-18(19), 39504 = 14-20 and 01E = international/EU, 03E US. But in between new versions they also publish small changes in the form of supplements at the end of the book, depending on the year it was printed in.

I've contacted motorcyclespareparts and they didn't know exactly either, but they asked their suzuki contact person and they were told that for my VIN the latest manual was 99500-39504-01E. Curious to see what models it applies to, it'll probably arrive at some point next week. I'll update my table above every time we figure out new info.

One other thing I did with mine was take it to a local print/graphics shop and had them cut off the binding and replace it with spiral binding. This way I can open it to the desired page and it will stay open and flat. Cost me about $6.
