I picked up a rox riser off a fellow vstrom rider and I have a question about the install. When you attach the riser to the "stem" you can't really angle the riser to far front or back or you block the lower bolt holes. So you can take advantage of the rising part of the riser, but you can't really angle it towards or away from you because you block the hex heads that need to be tightened down. Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it is designed?

If it'll best suit your needs, grind the short arm of the Allen wrench short enough so it'll clear the bar and just fit into the bolt to tighten it. Don't get it hot when grinding--cool frequently in water. You can try hacksawing it, but it may be too hard.

I rolled thehandlebars away from the desired position.

I tightened the exposed screws.

I returned the handlebars to the desired position.

I tightened the remaining bolts and done.

The answers have been posted. I believe there is a direction to the caps and a prescribed order to the bolt tightening. To respect that, I reversed the caps before tightening the rear, rotating into position, then tightening the front using my sawed off Allen wrench.
