Question about Hi-Vis vests

1166 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  PTRider
I want to order a Hi-Vis vest, however I don't know what size to order so it will fit over my normal riding jacket, i.e., is a large meant to fit over a large size jacket, etc?

Anyone having purchased; and using a vest over their riding jacket have some advice?

cheers

I get the construction type from work. I use 1 size larger than my riding coat. On the highway mine tends to get wind under it and it pulls it up around my neck. So, I use a safety pin and pin the lower front of the Hi-Viz to my britches to keep it from flying over my helmet.

Last winter I splurged and bought a Hi-Viz riding coat...much better choice IMO. I use the vest when its hot over a shirt.

The Class 3 vests have short sleeves with the hi-viz and reflective tape visible on the sleeves, even better for being seen. Some of the ordinary Class 2 vests get hidden behind luggage, windscreen, etc.

I'd call it a shirt, but I'm not writing the regs and selling to those who gott'a follow the regs.

I just ran across a source for the BEST vests:
Hit-Air Vests
Protection for the neck, spine, tailbone, sides & front of the torso.
