Question about display on 2015 650

I just got a 2015 650 with 1200 miles on it. The previous owner bought it after it had been sitting a number of years. He had to replace the gas tank, the fuel pump, and the injectors. The appearance is a little rough but everything seems to be OK. First ride on backroads at a gentle 55-65 mph netted 60+ MPG. I am impressed. However, the bike did not come with a User Guide ( and I cannot locate one for that year) and there are 2 questions I have about the display
1. One of the items displays a string of lower case 'o' - like 'oooooooo'. What is that?
2. There does not seem to be display for current mpg, just 2 displays for mpg per trip meter. Have I missed something?

Thanks for your help.

Note : I am really not a new member. I had a 2007 650 about 10 years ago and constantly watched this site for information. Since then I have had a Moto Guzzi 1200, a 2021 Gold Wing DCT, a Kawa Voyager, and a Victory Vision. All too heavy for me now. BTW, if anyone is interested in a 2014 Victory Vision with 28000 miles I will make you not just a great deal but a fantastic deal for it.

Pretty sure that is dash brightness. If it works the same as my DL1050 you keep hitting on of the buttons and it cycles to more 'o's and gets brighter until it starts over.

I'm with Vtom
I'm sure users with the same bike can give you exact details but if you took a picture of the left side handlebar selector I'm sure we can figure it out.

If it is located between the two "Trip Miles" and the Odometer, it is definitely dash brightness. Someone here provided a link where you can download a User's Manual. Can;t remember it now.

I've located several things that call themselves users manuals. However, they all show the old dashboard with the non digital tachometer in the non digital speed which would be pre-2012, I think. Thanks all for the info on the brightness issue. Is there no instant mile per gallon?

EDITED
Mine is 2022, so take that into account (yours 2015, right?). Both instant and average (per trip meter I think) miles per gallon are on the display. I use the MODE down button on left handlebar. Each press goes through 1) Instant MPG, 2) Average MPG, 3) Battery Voltage, and 4) Driving Range (A calculation based on Avg MPG and Fuel Level in tank).
Now, these values above are displayed on the bottom center of the dash display.

Using your MODE up button on left handlebar, you'll get (not necessarily in this order) 1) Dash Display Brightness that you inquired about earlier, 2) Trip 1, 3) Trip 2, and 4) Mileage of motorcycle. These values are displayed in the upper right of the display.

Again, this is for my 2022 but yours should be similar.
Earlier you inquired about the ooooo on the display. The way this works is:
First, press your MODE up button to cycle through until getting your 000000 on the display. Then, press the ADJUST button to cycle through. The dimmer your display brightness, the les "zeros" you'll have. As brightness increases, the "zeros" will also, until reaching maximum brightness which I think is 6 zeros.

Just in case you don't know, the ADJUST button is on the dash, just to the left of the Tachometer (in line with and to the left of 6000 RPM). They hid it well. Of the many other features, the ADJUST button also resets your Trip Meters (and Clock Time, etc). You need a manual to figure all of it out.

Although for a 3rd gen, this should help you out

Shop manual for 90.00...
You could just download an Owner's Manual for free at the link AZ-Stromer provided. It's for a 2022, I think, but most all of it will pertain to your bike.
