I pulled the rest of the stickers off my Wee this morning. It's not that I have anything against stickers but I wanted more of that beautiful white paint to shine through. I pulled the DL650 stickers off the side panels too. Then I added a "Dudism" sticker and a yellow warning sticker from Twisted Throttle to the side plate. I'll be using the side plates for my stickers and leaving the gas tank clean, at least for now.

I have an eagle sticker that I bought for the gas tank but I think I'll leave it off for now. Those big tank arrow head stickers came off really easy. I started using the hair dryer idea to soften the glue, but once I have the edge lifted, they just pealed off really cleanly. :beatnik:

Dude, where are the pics man? I mean, without the pics, this is, well, a bummer man.

Naked Turtle, without stickers

I have figured out how to post images! Hoaah!

I removed all the stickers from the body panels but not the swing arm tire stuff. I added a Twisted Throttle and Dudeism sticker to the right side rear panel where I plan to add my location/vendor stickers. I will eventually put random stickers on the tank, I suppose, but I plan to keep the nose panels clean so I can see the beautiful white sparkly paint.

I like the cleaner look. It also provides a place for individual expression if desired.

That clean white bike with all the black trim REALLY looks spiffy. My favorite color. However, the Wallyworld bag hanging off the turn signal is not all that decorative, and will flop around a lot in the wind. :yesnod:

You need to get rid of that collection of dead trees of the rear rack also, a bit of velcro and you can mount a Nook or Kindle right on top of the tank and you won't have to worry about the pages flipping in the breeze. It's not as good as the 42" lcd screen that mounts on a Goldwing but it works.

Joking aside, the bike looks much better without the stickers. I already pulled the idiot stickers off the tank and fairing and the ABS fender sticker off mine and the rest are going this evening.

I bought my skid plate from Narcosis Junkie at Enduro Products. I highly recommend this stuff.

He has the highway bars I want, but funds are kinda short right now so I have to wait. Excellent service, great products, and top quality.
Not much interested in the wrap around style of skid plate. To hard to keep the crap cleaned out of it and always in the way when trying to service the bike. Besides my Vee already weighs enough as it is.

I just like the simplicity of the one pictured on that Wee.

Frankk, I couldn't agree more, but it doesn't hurt that you have the best color that the mighty Strom was blessed with. God that looks nice! I'm sold... I'll be heading to the garage in a few moments to heat up the gun and remove mine

Ya, maybe so, but if he puts it on the right turn signal it might melt. Duh!

In all seriousness, that white really does look nice.

I pulled them off my 09, as well. Love it. It even got me on Killboy's highlight page, sort of!
Try this on your next right turn...

...First, balls of the feet on the pegs.
...Before the turn, twist to the right on the seat.
...Lean your body way to the right (for this right turn) so you're looking out over or beyond the mirror. Your left knee against the tank and your right foot carry your weight.
...Push on the outside grip to keep running straight before the turn. Pre-load the bike into wanting to turn.
...Locate your turn point.
...Look through your turn. Point your chin at your turn exit. Keep your eyes level.
...At your turn point--relax your outside arm, and keep it relaxed laying across the tank.
...At the same time, push on the inside grip, and use only your inside arm (here the right for a right turn) to steer, keeping the outside arm relaxed.
...Roll on the throttle through the turn.
...Pull back on the inside grip to straighten the bike.
...Repeat everything above on the other side for the upcoming left turn, starting before you get to the turn.

You'll be amazed at how this stabilizes the turn and makes it easier.

Your bike looks good de-stickered. I'm still deciding what to do about my gray bike. I've also got a black strom. I'm thinking of mixing & matching black & gray panels....

I too was thinking about mixing panels but don't have another bike to switch off from/to. My wife almost bought her own Wee and then we'd be switching some...but, alas, it's not to be.

I was wondering about pulling the ABS stickers but I hadn't tried those yet. I thought they might be glued on differently, but since others have mentioned it, they come off this weekend, maybe Friday night. I love the clean look and the black/white contrast works really well for this idea.

I have been learning road riding techniques like suggested above. This stuff is really cool! I have been riding 30+ years but never understood the balance/weight/steering dynamics until I started riding off road. It has been advised that the best place to learn to ride is in the dirt. I always thought, "You'll are just nuts." But it's true and I can really appreciate that idea now.

When I get my body into the correct position, it's like power steering, and the bike just turns itself. It's freakin' weird, and a lot of fun. Although, I am not interested in "gettin' a knee down" and I'm glad to learn that it's not important if you have the rest of your body position correct. I had not heard of the idea of pointing your chin at your exit point so I'm going to work on that. This stuff is so cool, and I LOVE learning new things! :beatnik:
