had a go in the garage tonight nicked the car mat from the ford
made a tempate from paper
didnt bother with the swing arm holes and just used auto trim double tape to stick them on i had it from halfords for a tank protector that came away ..sticks like somthing to a blanket
...looks quite neat even though i say so myself

click for close up..

does raise the question ..should i have to be doing this ???

Great idea minkyhead :D. I've got some wear spots on my strom but that area is usually covered in dirt and road grime  so it really doesn't bother me. :p
