Since several days unable to see most pages in Windows IE 11, latest updates as MS pushes them out. Happens on two different PCs!

No problems with other sites, just stromtrooper.com

The page opens, lets you sign in and see the home page. Then opening a thread you see the page for a very short time to be replaced by a blank page, different URL and the PC keeps trying to load but cant. Only way is to close IE and start over. With the same result but not always at the same page. Sometimes you cant even see the homepage after logging in.

This is written from our ipad. Could not do it from the PC!

PS: i use the classic version, if that were to make a differencs?

Sounds like a browser hijack infection if the tab is being redirected to another URL. Does this only happen on the Stromtrooper site? I am on IE11 in Win10 (64-bit) and latest updates with no problems. Try the site through Edge (like you, I think, I removed it from the task bar and replaced it with the IE11 shortcut) and if it does the same thing then you more than likely have a browser hijack infection.

If that's the case then you need to run some utilities:
HiJackThis - copy and past the log into the utility's web site for any suspect registry entries to be highlighted
Malwarebytes - anti-malware
adwcleaner - removes adware infections which redirect your browser or give you unexpected pop-ups or pop-unders
HitmanPro - also deals with adware and hijacks
Rkill
Spybot
tdsskiller - removes rootkits and redirect viruses

good info here: www.malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-browser-redirect-virus
Follow the steps in the right order

Ummm...you do have a good antivirus, don't you?

Glyn,

thanks for the responses. First what year is yours, looks like my 2004 WEE.

I don't think its a browser hijack because:
1. it was happening only on Stromtrooper.com. All other sites were just behaving normal.
2. was happening on 2 different PC's that are configured similar (win-10 64, IE11). One is the work PC and that has all the protections you can think of.
3. I ran Sophos virus removal tool on the other (home unit) and it found nothing and did not change the issue.
4. Seems to have disappeared today since I can write this comment. :)

Will see if this is really so.

Maybe another MS quirk caused by their constant fiddling with Windows and Office etc.

Hey there

This sounds like the issue tech was looking at over the weekend. There was a conflict with one of our updates and the IE browser. As it becomes more and more outdated, tech is having trouble keeping our sites functioning properly on it, but they are trying. They have deployed a fix for this issue now, so you should be all set. Clear your cache and cookies to be sure. If you're still having trouble, let us know.

That makes sense now. Its working fine again today. Not a cache and cookies issue, I get rid of then each time. What would you regard as a "not outdated browser" instead of IE11?

Hi. Curious problem but glad that it has gone away.

My "wee" is a 2005 model. Blue seems to be the best colour for these machines - so "blue"-tiful :)

I am also an "old" biker with a "new" bike. I had several in my younger days over the years and then stopped riding when I got my first company car around the time of a nasty spill when a truck tried to use the same piece of road that I was on at the time... Around 25 years later when we downsized from a house in the 'burbs to an apartment in the city we got rid of one car and I got a bike again. After much tyre kicking and test riding I found the "wee" and fell in love at first ride. The rest is history. It had 36000km on the clock in 2012 when I bought it and it is just about to go over 100,000km :)
