I bought an older used Corbin a couple months ago, which came with the optional backrest.
With it installed, coupled with my top-case, I could not get it on the bike....had to remove it.
I didn't care, as the backrest was a bonus, did not really want it, knew it was great for resale.
When I took it off, and then installed the seat bracket, which was not included, I noticed the seat was quite "loose".....more specifically, it was not high enough at the front of the seat, where it meats the tank area.
It appeared that the rubber "feet" had worn over the years, and were now slightly shorter, which made for some *play* when in place.
After riding it like this for a month or so, I recently took it off to notice that the edge of the seat was actually sitting on the plastic body parts, and left some wear marks......I was pissed! I knew it was never 100%, as I could really feel the vibes through my ass, but did not see that it was resting on the plastic bits.
I got some furniture slider material from Home Depot, the thick felt strips, that have a peel-off sticky tape on the backside, and built up the area where the seat "feet" would rest.....this was just enough to take the edge of the seat off the plastic, and also give me a nice tight fit, with no more play.
If I had bought this new, and the fitment was like this, I'd have not been a happy camper, but after seeing the rubber feet on the seat base were actually worn, I think it's just one of those things that happens over time......I absolutely love the seat, and have had them on my previous bikes, so will gladly accept having to mod it to make it work better.
