As I try to expand my capabilities in the world of 12V electricity/electronics I keep seeing references to the Power Probe. I've watched a couple of youtube videos and it intrigues me and looks like it may be quite useful, even for someone like me who is generally paralyzed from the neck up when it comes to electricity.

For those of you who have and use these, what are your thoughts? Are they worthwhile for the average Joe working on his bike/boat/truck in his garage? If so, please provide us with some of the most useful functions it provides. Thanks in advance.

Assuming a Power Probe is the same thing over here in the UK I would say they can be invaluable,

Being able to test for earth and power, then with the touch of a button create an ad-hoc earth or power feed all in one device saves so much time.

It's nice but a regular multi-meter and a sewing pin can get the same results.
Used to do dat all the time when I worked and when doing work on my own toys.
The sewing pin makes a pretty small hole that doesn't cause problems.
It helps to have leads that have alligator clips on them
