Please use this thread for all things pertaining to PCIII mapping. Things like performance, gas mileage, tuning tips, best map for riding style, personal observations & experiences etc.......... List the year of your Strom too, this really helps.

Try to keep on topic as much as possible. Don't post "actual" map files here, post it at the other STICKY map thread.

Have fun......no pissing on eachother please.;)

2006 Dl1000

My 1000K6 is stock. PCIII supplied by Fuel Moto with their "stock" map. I get 40 mpg on the road, mid-upper 30's around town. I have a torque-y right hand.

I just put the unbaffled two bros exhaust on my stock k6 and it has the hicups off idle and between 3500-4000. Im am using the PCIII recomended map. With the stock exhaust the PCIII map was an improvement. I have made no other mods.

K6 two brothers exhaust 14,000 miles commuting to NYC.

Looking for a littlePCIII map help

I have an 04 DL1000. Stock exhaust with K&N air. I'm running the completely stock map for the 04-05 (M311-005) and believe that it may be running a bit lean. Would appreciate any suggestions.

I reloaded mine today with MG's new map that he modified for "me". I also saved about 10 other maps as well, in case anyone ever needs them while hanging at my crib. I also have some great cold weather options with a couple of these maps too.

My 1000 honestly 1st though second will reach for the sky under hard throttle....so will BADTRAINDRIVERS strom. I'll see how good the Black Mantis runs with the new map, and I'll get back to ya'll.

buttons on PC111

I installed one of Shep's maps in my 06 and it seems a little lean at 3 to 4K rpm. Tried to adjust the mid range button but it would not work as per the manuel's directions. I held the 3 on and switched on ign----nothing, I switched on ign and then depressed the buttons---still nothing. The led moves when the engine is running and the unit took the map so that part works. Any hints?

I did mine yesterday as follows; Turn key on and wait until lights go out on PC. then start and hold down 3 buttons within 5 secs. Programming mode came on showing 2 LEDs straddling the 0 mark. push mid range to slect then hold down to decrease or just press repeatedly to increase[richen]. Same thing for the low and high. After approx20 secs it auto stores. Light goes back to throttle position.

Hold down the 3 buttons and use the battery...."much easier".

Zeroed PCIII Map - gotta love it.

I am not sure of the exact history of my bike, 05 - it was setup by the zuki dealer in AK Northwest or something, with a PCIII using the wrong map, and supposedly an updated ECM - whatever that means, and the TBS so far out of sync it was not even funny.....

After f'ng around with several maps (Cheffs-pre TBS, PCIII-004 after TBS and secondaries removed neither map netted me more than about 40 mpg but running fine at all speeds and throttle positions) I finally tried the PCIII zero map - just let the zuki do what the zuki engineers wanted to do. Even with the secondaries removed, it runs great - and it is getting in the 45-47mpg.

No dead spots, no missing, no acceleration problems......I am beginning to think the PCIII needs to be removed from the equation.....nah.....still to much playing around to be done......but I am thinking a '+1' map would be the next step, just a little richer. ;)

FWIW I had the stock 05 map downloaded from power commanders site and the mileage sucked. I have pulled secondaries and done TBS but have the stock filter and pipes. I loaded the map called Crisco Summer and during a test ride stopped and backed it off 2 settings from zero on all 3 adjustments. Didn't seem to rob any power and I now am back to 310 km per tank.:-D

Laava, is 310k supposed to be good for the K7 1000? I have a stock K7 1000 and have not done the TBS yet and get about 350k per tank and I'm not so easy on the throttle. Makes me think maybe I don't need a PCIII?

Suzuki Map

I talked with my Suzuki Dealer yesterday and he told me to throw away my power commander and that he could map the the bike on the orginal equipment to run better than the PC. Has anyone done this and did it work?

What Big B said " highly unlikely" , unless they sponser a race team and have invested some money in hightech tuning equipment.

I have never seen a bike as sensitive to throttle input as the DL1000. I baby it in town and get ~32mpg. On the open road ~42mpg. almost a %25 difference. Keep experimenting, but I have found that no matter how rich or lean a map i've tried, the MPG really only varies as much as how I ride it. I would just find a map that makes it run to your satisfaction and then understand that the bike is not a vespa.

That makes perfect sense to me! It's my throttle hand I need to control for good MPG.
