The radar shelf and light bar that I ordered from Pat Walsh Designs was recently delivered. When trying to mount the radar shelf it seemed that the mounting points on the shelf (where the holes are) do not quite match the angle of the fairing. After about 30 minutes of futzing and wishing for a beer, the shelf was still not in place. I could get one side fastened loosely but not the other side. It seemed that the stock screws were not long enough. And also the fairing didn't match the angle of the shelf. So, OK I say, try the light bar. First the mounting screws seemed too long, I had to loosen the four nuts that hold the instruments to their bracket so I could get the screws through the mounting holes. Then after replacing the black plastic nose piece, I found that the screw spacing did not match the holes in the light bar. About 3/16 to 1/4 inch off. Anybody have similar problems?? Any ideas?? I e-mailed Pat Walsh Designs this morinig but I am impatient. TIA.

Radar shelf...

After taking the windshield off, it took me perhaps 5 minutes to mount the shelf. The problems that you're having sound weird... I also have the skid plate/crash bars, and that took maybe a couple of hours and 3 beers. Usually, Pat will get right back to you any any problems.

Once I realized the tabs mounted on the outside of the bodywork and that I needed longer screws, it all made sense. It never did sit exactly level, but pretty close. I took it off because it didn't work as well as I had hoped, and it was going to scratch the bodywork externally. If I put it back, I'll get some rubber washers too.

Light Bar

Well, after a bit of futzing and drilling the mounting holes in the fairing bracket SLIGHTLY larger, I was able to install the light bar. Even with longer screws the radar shelf does not seem quite right. PW said that maybe it got bent in shipping or maybe it was not formed correctly.
