Hello my fellow Stormers, My question is what tires do you recommend for the Oregon or even the Washington weather for the DL1000. My 2012 looks like I need another rear tire and it has about 6K on the factory one, I was thinking of the Shinko 705 I like the pattern of the tire any thoughts?

I was planning on going with an Anakee 2, but apparently they discontinued it due to the Anakee 3, which doesn't really look appealing to me.

I've actually got over 9200 miles on my OEM rear tire. I guess they last quite a while when most of your riding is commuting.

Highway tire or part-time off pavement? If highway:
MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 Trail - Tires On-road | MICHELIN Motorcycle - United States - Motorcycle-website

"MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires stop faster in the wet than any other tires in the category. But don't just take our word for it. Independent tests prove it.* The MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 brakes 17% shorter than its closest competitor on wet pavements and even better on slippery wet surfaces thanks to MICHELIN XST+ sipes technology. All of which means riding in the rain should feel safer, more secure, and a lot less stressful."

The British motorcycle mags like the Pilot Road tires in the wet, and the Pilot Road 4 is the latest version. The Trail version is made for the weight and riding characteristics of our bikes.

"All-new silica-charged rubber compounds were developed for the MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires. These compounds are specially formulated to provide excellent grip on a wide range of road surfaces, including painted lines and pedestrian crossings, making it easier for you to ride with confidence in virtually all conditions.*** "
***Excludes snow and ice and other extreme conditions.

Low cost, not very long rear life, the strumming sound bothers some (including me), a bargain if you change the tire yourself: Shinko 705 or Full Bore M40
