Does anyone have any experience/opinion on what would be a better place to ride between the Ringwood Manor area or Waywayanda State Park...?

When I was younger my dad used to take me fishing around Shepard's lake and I was thinking about taking a ride down memory lane this weekend but according to google maps and the satellite images it provides the area around Shepards lake doesn't seem to have too many decent roads to ride.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are plenty of nice roads in central and south Jersey. PA has great roads also. Did 200+ miles on Saturday out in PA. I've never made it up to those lake areas. Check out www.ssyso.com there are alot of local people on there who might have ridden up where you are looking.

I ride central and south Jersey on sat and on Sun I ride up by us. I know some roads up by Greenwood Lk and some really nice roads up old 17 and rt6

Weekdays after work I ride along the river up to the GWB and then back to the TZB
If you like I can show you around some on Sundays

I'm in that area all the time, those two parks are really close to each other so you should visit them both.If your going to be in the ringwood area you should go to Harriman state park, the roads in the park are a lot more challenging then the Ringwood/Waywayanda State park area, from there you have Bear mt,Westpoint,Cornwall, all fantastic areas to ride in,have fun.
Here's a link to some pictures from that area.

Tammy, I actually grew up in River Edge, right by Dumont (which is where my grandparents used to live). Thanks for the offer and the ride suggestions.

Jccc, nice pics. I think I'll check out all the places but will hit Harriman State park 1st.
