There was an article in the Globe and Mail today about a Hyosung Cruiser.

The article mentioned it used the V-Strom 650 engine made under license although it sounded like it was rated at quite a bit ore power (maybe the SV engine?) The writer commented that the DL650 was one of his favorite bikes.

Hyosung did make a number of Suzuki type engines under license. The Wee engine was not one of them. Although the Hyosung engine is similar in appearance, it is not the same engine. The specs are not the same, but apparently the Hyosung does put out more HP than the DL and about the same as the SV.

It will be interesting to see how the longevity of the Hyosung product is, as they are definatly taking up some market share and the products are vastly improved over just a few years ago...think Hyundai and/or Kia.....

(Actually, I think he did a DL1000 review last year but I couldn't say for sure.)

the hyosung engine in the GT 650 makes a claimed 76.43 HP
so thats about 14 more than a v strom 650 .
