So i have a couple days off and there's only one day of rain on the horizon...

Was thinking about riding down to Atlantic City tomorrow, maybe try a casino, half a day at the beach, ride to red bank for a couple hours, and spend a day in NYC riding in cool areas like time square (which i have never done before!).

Any suggestions of places i should see or do?
I was thinking about the aircraft carrier museum although i couldn't see parking around on google.

The Taconic Parkway is a nice ride if you can get on that. There is tons of parking lots in the City. Icon and other names. You could try the ParkWhiz app. Riding around Times Square will be crazy jammed. Personally i would avoid that area. Its for tourists walking around and looking up. And for whatever poachers are looking to take advantage of them :)

Maybe circle around the bottom of NYC/Battery Park/Freedom Tower, Statue of Liberty? Ride the West Side Highway along the Hudson River and also the FDR drive along the East River (these are both racetracks. Bike to the Cloisters in northern NYC. So many places to visit. So much traffic! Its supposed to be in the 90's BTW.

Have fun. Report back. Take pictures.

Thanks, taking notes!

As always, it's a last second trip, nothing is planned cause i suuuck at planning in advance :wink2:

I'll have my gopro on, and my camera for lots of pics (hopefully).

Traffic is never an issue for me when i'm on vacation, specially when i'm exploring and don't have a deadline. Worst that can happen is i'll "have to" extend my stay one day :)

Not sure how you come south. But definitely do route 7 in Connecticut. There are two covered bridges along the ride. COrnwall and south of Kent. A very, very nice country route.

I'll check that out, maybe on my way back home if it's not too "off course"

Back!!

As luck would have it, tapatalk erased my login information, so i couldn't get on.
Had an awesome time in AC, bought t-shirts at the stash and went to the beach and then casino time on thursday, did the mistake of going in NYC on friday (HUGE traffic and road placement that made no sense on top of crazy tolls) was a waste of money and energy imo.

I did see the planes museum as i was slowly crawling past it, trying desperately to find something to drink, under a crushing heat :p

I need to go back, hopefully this summer, but skipping NYC this time :p

Ps: Met a VStrom guy between AC and Red Bank, talked about his trips to Quebec and Newfoundland, i guess the heat affected me, i forgot to ask him if he was a member here!!

Pps: Everyone was so friendly!!! I even got a free pass at a toll on the 87 :)

New post to an old thread but explore the pine barrens. Great back road riding
It's never too late to give advice! Could help someone else who would like to visit, or me when i go back that way :)

you may want to add thaT it is mostly deep sugar sand, and you may want more then street tires and a friend
I don't know if off-road tires are in my close future, i like sport hooligan mode too much. Wouldn't my tanker sink in that?
