A buddy and I are riding down from Vegas to Disneyland for Halloween and meet our families there.
Our trip down will be through Joshua Tree.
We were throwing around ride up to Newcombs have breakfast and return to Vegas.
Is the road up and over from Pasadena to I-15 open and ridable?
Neither one of us has ridden this area before.

Y E S ! ! !
It's open with brand new pavement. It's good to do atleast once. I used to do it about 3 times a week. it's a nice get away from the city. I suggest you do so if you'll be out this way.

I rode through there a few times last month. The new road looks perfect! I did have to stop once for construction. They were blasting just off the road. It's nice to be able to finish the full loop again.

Nice area:thumbup:
I would definitely ride this area often if I lived closer.
My buddy and I rode over from Disney and stopped in at Newcombs on the way home to Vegas.
Had a couple of Diet Cokes and chatted with the bartenders.
Only got passed by 3 fast movers on the way up:hurray:
Definitely an active area for rock movement:yikes:
Will do again!!!

I hope you were'nt stuck in the rain up there. I've been up with only 5' visability. That is no fun. The wrightwood side has rocks all over the place. La Canada side is much smoother goin'

No rain for us.
Did encounter one big rock on the La Canada side and alot if rock across the road on the Wrightwood side.
No big deal.
Now looking forward to rides to LA, I hate the Cajon region!
