Hi all names Teilk..Im new to the weestrom world as I have bought a great 2007 Dl650 A. Simply Brilliant..

I am going through replacing items and giving her the once over.
I was just wondering if anyone can give me advice on torque settings for the front and rear sprockets for this model or at least know if there is a free service manual downlod...somewhere.

Thanks in advance T

Hi Teilk,

Welcome to the V-Strom world.
Torque the rear sprocket nuts to 43.5ft/lb, and the front countershaft sprocket to 105ft/lb.
The quoted spec for the rear axle nut is 72.5ft/lb but many riders have suffered from galling and damage, so we recommend 58ft/lb with a smear of anti-seize or grease applied to the threads. I find it easier to remove the rear axle next time by applying the finest smear of anti-seize to the whole rear axle.

I will delete your second thread asking for the exact same info. We don't like duplicate posts.
Please also note that although we respond to specific requests for technical information, we do not allow links to pirated manuals, nor the sale of pirated copyright information online. The only place we will allow reference to is https://www.genuinesuzukimanuals.com/ or your local Suzuki dealer. Apart from private second hand sales of used manuals, all other links are for the sale of pirated manuals and are not allowed.

Enjoy your V-Strom. they are generally very reliable.
p.s. Most here will recommend that the sprockets and chain should always be renewed at the same time.

Welcome to the forum, Tielk.

You didn't mention where you are located but if in the US there is a nice gently used OEM Service Manual for sale in the For Sale section at a very reasonable price.

https://www.stromtrooper.com/sale/424595-sale-factory-service-manual-dl650.html

You may have to PM the seller as your post count is probably too low to post there. Or holler back here and I am sure someone will assist as a go between.
