Hello,
I've been out of motorcycles for several years, sold a nonrunning BMW R60 US and bought an 06 Wee. I'm planning a trip from Montana to San Francisco in Sept. and have several questions;

How do you folks get 50+ mpg? I'm in the low 40's running at 5500 rpm, 75 mph indicated (commuting 25 miles each way).

What tools do you carry for road trips?

How expensive are electronic cruise controls?

How often are you lubing and adjusting the chain?

What tire pressure and preload settings do you use?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Tire pressure:
I get great tire life with the factory pressures, 33 & 36. Others use higher pressures.

Chain:
Lube every other tank of gas in dry weather and every tank in wet weather. Adjust just about never, 'cuz it wears very little when lubed. When it starts to wear is the time to start budgeting for a new chain & sprockets.

A little off topic, but yes get a centerstand for easy chain lubing. Just installed my SW-Motech, really easy. I was worried about the heft of the Wee and getting it up on the stand but they've got the balance just perfect, foot on the stand, slight shift in weight and up it pops. Brilliant.

You guys are great!!

Thank you!
These are the sort of answers that really help a person get their bike lined out!
Keep SW Montana in mind for trips! We have lots of dirt roads over the hills that connect to paved roads on the valley floor.

Thank you agian and good riding!!!

06 Wee, well farkled
