Hi,

received my new 2011 DL650 2 weeks ago, and apart from the first weekend it's been persistently precipitating whenever I've wanted to ride. In the past I've ridden mostly sports bikes, but I've been riding v-twins for the last 10 years (Aprilia RSVR, curvy SV650 and pointy SV650S), and bought the bike on the basis of the engine and getting something that better suits the roads in NZ.

First ride the screen was on it's lowest setting and I got a bit of buffeting and flies on my visor. Moved it to the highest setting and got no flies, but turbulence from under my helmet....seems like air rushing up the hole in front of the tank.

Other than that everything is peachy. Really comfy and easy to ride.
Took it from New Plymouth to Mokau and back first time and done a few laps around mount Taranaki. Hope to ride the Forgotten highway down to Whangamomona soon.

Nice site; lots of nice folk and good information.
