Howdy folks I'll be picking up a 2003 DL1000 this Friday and wanted to report in! I found this forum when trying to decide between the Vee and a Triumph Tiger of similar vintage. The friendly folks and wealth of knowledge drew me back for more.
A bit about myself: I'm a father of 2 who works in the aviation sector. I've been riding for about 10 years but mostly old UJM's and noisy choppers. Earlier this year I drove a BMW r1100r 400kms to deliver it for a friend. I was sold on sport/adventure touring! However I am 6'4" and a bit on the portly side so my choices were limited to the Strom, the Tiger or a BMW adventure. I can't afford a BMW so it came down to a tiger or strom and here I am! I hope to make many miles with my new to me Vee. Hoping to make the mountains this year and I'd love to head east next year but it all depends on work and family. No matter what I plan to ride the poop outta this bike!
