We lived in Waynesville in the Balsam Mountain Apartments for about a year and a half waiting for our house to be completed in Rutherfordton. That was an adventure in itself…
You are about fifteen hundred feet higher than we are here and that amounts to a significant difference in overall temperature. We went everywhere we could while there and still make a bi-monthly trip to The Buttered Biscuit for breakfast. I’m glad to know you’re fairly close, maybe we’ll get together sometime.
We do enjoy the cooler temps here. Waynesville is about 2500 ft elevation and we are about 3700. Not a lot of air conditioning needed in the summer.
We enjoy the small town atmosphere after living in the Atlanta area for over 20 years.
The Buttered Biscuit and Beech Mountain are our favorite breakfast places.
Let me know if you're in the area. It would be a good excuse to get the bike out.
