Hello to all,

I live in Chadds Ford PA and this bike is perfect for these roads here.I just purchased an 11 650 abs. This is my second wee and regret trading in my 07.It wasn't big enough for 2up so i got an st1300 and love but it is heavyyyyy.So the strm is my solo bk.Im looking at crash bars and an engine protection the prices range from $400-$800 for the two.Tke givi is smaller and less expensive but will it protect the tank and plastic the same in a tipover.I know it will only do so much but i ride alot on oil and chip roads and in lancaster HORSE POOP IS SLIPPERY!!!!!!!!

i have a givi bar, and it protected my bodywork just fine when i had a low seed get off. What it did not protect was the turn signal.. but i saw that as a reason to upgrade to the flexable buell ones. As far as the tank goes, however, not a scratch, and i touched up the bar with a little black paint from ace. it was the rust stop brand (ace brand stuff) with the "hammered" texture. pretty good match.

I've got the Pat Walsh on mine -- crash bars, skid plate (modified so I can change oil/filter without removal) and the front panel that keeps most of the debris off the engine, oil cooler, etc. I like it. It's good solid stuff, although I have not tested it with a drop.

I like the Pat Walsh design. It's a nice set up. You can order it with highway pegs and it's a bit cheaper price overall.
PS. I know all about them "road apples".

I have the SWMotech bars with Yan's skid plate. I have tested both of these and found them to provide very good protection for my bike, now renamed Turtle.
