Hopefully I am allowed to join, since I technically am not a V-Strom owner. Instead I bought one for my wife who is the owner. I have always liked them and given she's a learner, I am doing most of the riding so far. Very fun, smooth bike.

Just to make things fun, she dropped it today on her second outing (she has a license, but no road experience). So here to see what hints there are on replacing the flasher (smashed) and disassembling the bar ends (screw bent).

I just grab the bar end weight and bend it back in place. As for the turn signal if the body is smashed then just get on from your dealer closest to you. Easy enough to replace as the connectors are within reach from the top side of the machine. Enjoy your wife's bike. Its a good ride.

Yeah, now that I have it all apart, I see I could have done that. But that flasher body is an expensive piece of plastic!

don't unscrew the bar end weight all the way - if you do, the nutt falls off the end of the bar end bolt and rolls down into the handlebar. Loosen only!

I got lucky. I had already done so, but the nut stayed put in the rubber piece and I was able to screw the bolt back in and pull the whole thing out. Which consequently caused me to come back in the house and join up here to see if there was anything else waiting to entrap me.
