Funny thing happened last night. A interesting guy came over to see a helmet I have for sale (marketed it on 3 different forums). I guess he saw it on the BMW site as he is a old airhead lover.

We spent a couple of hours BS'ng about bikes, rallies and good times he started showing an interest to my DL650. Not having a bike for 15 yrs he was open to looking at all bikes. His first priority was getting a helmet though....I took care of that need for him.

Well, he called me today from the Suzuki Dealer and he was doing the paperwork for an ABS DL650. Funny how life works isn't it. I expect we will see him at the Ride to Eats soon. His name is Wayne from Lutz if he shows up on the forum.

By paperwork, I assume they actually had a bike for him. I suppose NC is the gonna be the last state they show up in. Oh well, I can wait.

Tom, stay in touch with him and invite him to the next ride to eat or eat to ride. Great day and ride last weekend.

Hello....Been off the forum for a couple of days.

Couple of things:

Wayne has been staying in touch with me....He brought home his new ride the other day. He will be on the next Meet n Greet I'm sure.

Fatalerror....Yes....but it required the perfect storm to happen. Dealer made huge liability mistake on my ST1300. He told me to pick out any helmet to make good with me in lieu of paying hotel and repair cost I encurred being out of town.

At the same time....KBC was trying to exchange another helmet for a different size and shipped the wrong helmet to me 3 times. Finally, they told me just to keep the last one they shipped me and they would ship the correct one out the next day. Guess what...another shipping error (#4 now). The sent correct size but wrong style. They said to keep that one too and try to enjoy both of them.

Score:

Tom = 3 helmets - 1 really cost me two hotel nights and $72 dealer fee in South Carolina

KBC = shipping cost from CA to FL and back multiple times & 2 free helmets

Power Sports = cost of helmet.....avoided 2 potential fatalities by mechanic installing bairings backwards which eventually locked up at 70 mph in South Carolina on I-95.

Moral of the story: God rewards patience and kindness when dealing with incompetent employees. Not to mention the patience when dealing with non-english speaking customer service and shipping clerks at KBC.
