OK, seriously. I nominate the name V2 for the new 2014 and later stroms.

Maybe it's not completely politically correct, but it fits and has a really nice ring to it.

I second the nomination....kinda. I prefer to write it Vee2 which maintains its Vee roots and corresponds better with Wee2 which is what I prefer to call the new 650.

BTW, is there really such a thing as a 2014 DL1000? Suzuki now calls it the V-Strom 1000 ABS.

Vee2 is consistant with Vee but I am sure V2 would be well understood. (Funny I just posted as much in the "Nickname" thread.)

Yeah, I could easily go with Vee2 no problem.

If the URL for its web page is any indication, the model number is DL1000A.

Yup all the name variations that I like, throw in V-II or VEE-II as well.

Roman numerals are of Satan.

Repent sinner.

We must use proper Arabic numerals, that way you could say, "Holy Vee-2 Batman!" and not be cast into the darkest pits of hell for your sacrilege.

So as not to be confused with the mighty and powerful DL1000B or the equally awesome DL1000C.

The DL1000D model is being tested at the Skunkworks but I can't really tell you any more than that.

They have peyote cactus growing around the Skunkworks. Where do you think they get all those crazy ideas?

'Merkin vs. Canadian DL1000 (2014)

In Canada, it will be known as the DL1000EH?

In the U.S. it will be know as the DL1000HUH?

Another vote for V2....
I have had a CBF1000 for the last three years, but I am really interested in this new 1000.
I like the CBF, but not as roomy as my Wee was....

The only correct name is: "V2.0" or "Vito" for short.

If you're gonna add a decimal followed by another number, why not make the number after the decimal the model year?

We can use that system for every model. No need for a "1" after the original model:

Vee.03 = 2003 DL1000
Wee.04 = 2004 DL650
Wee.07A = 2007 DL650 ABS (The "A" helps differentiate the ABS from non ABS in some model years of the Wee)
Vee2.14 = 2014 V-Strom 1000 ABS (No need for the "A")
Wee2.13 = 2013 V-Strom 650 ABS (No need for the "A")

I currently own a Wee.07 and a Wee2.13
With this system, there would be no confusion about which V-Stroms I have.

I realize that there is already the "K_" and "L_" designation for model years, but this is simpler.

Keep it up and you'll find your faring on the pillow next to you when you wake up.
Been there done that except I had a split rail fence for a pillow, the faring pieces were strewn across the road and it was a very brief nap.

And you only use "Vito" when hauling olive oil.
