I don't know if any of the rest of you guys suffer this, but man I just can't help myself. I find myself constantly falling in love with some new bike that I see or have test ridden and then I get all obsessed about it and can't stop thinking about how to make it mine. About a year ago I rode the new Indian Scout, what a nice bike, I wanted it so bad. Now lately I rode the new Triumph Speed Twin ( I've had a couple of Triumphs) and I can't stop thinking about it.
But I keep coming back to what a great bike my V-Strom is and how much I loved it when I bought it and how it does every thing I ask it to do and how much money I've put into it to make it fit me and not to mention ITS PAID FOR!
I have to keep reminding myself to be happy where you're planted, haha!
It really is a sickness.

I had a fully kitted out fully paid for KLR at one point. Saw a bike that was not even close to the same value that I had to have. Traded the KLR in and got hit HARD on value difference. Very stupid move on my part, but it was what I wanted at the time. I just picked up the Vee2 so all is now well with the world.

The bike I traded for was... a 93 fzr600. Clean enough, ran very well. I can't say I was upset with the decision, but my back side still hurts from the black hole I created in my wallet. I sold the fzr to a kid last weekend, next day cop shows up asking questions about the bike. Turns out the kid thought it would be a good idea to "test it out" before registering and with no insurance. Got stopped, got it impounded. May have even spent some time in the station with that kinda oops.

I am right with you on this i am geeking out on the new Yamaha XSR900 that motor is the same motor they use in the fz09,fj09 and now the xsr900 best motor ever!!!! plus the cool look of the bike. Could easily put some 60/40 or 80/20 tires on it and do fire roads and such.

Ah yes, the old GOTA HAVE IT disease. It's usually directly related to high testosterone levels. It most often, but not always, diminishes with age along with other parts that also diminish with age. Take the blue pill for the second problem and get a second bike for the first.

Not sure if you have ridden one yet, but both me and my bud did a Yamaha demo day and we did not overall like that bike. Yes the engine is fabulous when in sport mode, but the chassis/suspension and brakes were not up to par for the price.

I did own the fz09 and i got rid of it because i could not get the seat right sent it out 2x. I only had 600 miles on it and at that time you had to wait to get one so i was able to sell at full value. I did sit on the xsr and it felt good i would raise the bars a little. I have not ridden one and from everyone i spoke to it is a great improvement from the suspension on the FZ09. there is only 1 place i can get a test ride, its about an hour away and thats fine its just finding time to do it.

I am the same way. Good for about 2 years in any vehicle, then I get the itch to replace it with something else. I've already been eyeballing a Super Tenere to replace my 14 Vee2 I've only had for a year and a half

What I seriously want to add to the garage, and what I rode before the Yamaha XSR900 which I hated overall. This bike is smooth, fast and very powerful, plus the gearbox and power delivery was amazing. The ergos were very comfy for me, with a Sargent seat and some soft bags it would make a pretty darn good weekend sport touring machine!

I have a list of bikes that I'd like to see in my garage. I'd have a tough time replacing the Strom right now though. It's just too damn versatile/practical!
