I just picked up a wee and would like someone that has one to make sure the steering feel is normal. It's been ten years since I rode a similarly styled motorcycle and I am coming off a Honda 919 so it could just be me.
Please let me know if you are in the area.

Have you checked the fork bushings?
If you can stabilize the bike with the front wheel off the ground, take a fork in each hand and listen/feel for any movement, you need bushings.
That happened to my bike and it is noticeable. The check is more definitive than "ride" feel too. Good luck with it.

When I picked up my '08 Wee, I was a afraid I made a mistake in buying it at first as it was sooo sensitive to bar inputs it was not fun to ride. Turned out the rear preload was soft and the front was cranked all the way up. Add that I'm a heavy guy and it really screwed up the steering geometry. I got the sag setup properly and it was like a new bike and handled just fine. So that might be a good place to start whether that is the problem or not.

True. Chassis geometry is set, maintained and controlled by 3 springs. Damping controls the springs. Proper setting equals rider confidence. Leaving it to chance will most often result in a less than optimal riding experience. Extract more joy from your bike by spending effort on this before any other farkle...IMHO

I checked everything over in the front end and it feels fine, I loosened up the fork tubes and re torqued all the fasteners and made sure the bearings are good.
I'm thinking what I am feeling is just the shinko 705 front. When doing a quick right to left (or opposite) it feels like the front end is made of rubber hahaha. I'm starting to think the tread blocks are just deflecting causing this feeling.

I'm getting used to it now, have about 500 miles on it, was just a big change.

So whoever wants a 705 shinko with a few hundred miles on it, itll be free hahaha ordering new tires this week when I decide what I want.

I had tkc80s on my gs and I don't remember it handling this way. Maybe I just got used to it quickly or the shinko and I just are not meshing.

Known handling trait of the 705 - BUT it will fade as the tire wears. Spend some time on some twistys and get the corners of the lugs to break in and that will help. Love my 705's for dirt road ridin.

Old story about the Shinko's. They are a bit weird at first but become trustworthy soon. They always feel a little bouncy at a walk.
