+1 for Richland Rick's mirror extenders. I am not familiar with the one's off of EBay but I do know that the stuff RR makes for our strom community is top notch. I am sure one could find things a little cheaper but you won't beat his customer service. He even made a road trip over to one of our service days to see how his stuff was working and what else we might need. Better yet he rides a Strom. Hats of to RR.
Not to knock Rick's stuff at all but I have the EBay one's as well and they work perfect. Fit and finish is excellent and they were less that $15. I support our community as much as I can but this was more than just a few $$ in the difference.

I have Richland Rick's extenders on my Vee. They're great, except that the rusty crappy-ass bolt makes me grind my teeth every time I see it.
This is not really Rick's fault -- metric socket head bolts in the proper JIS 10X1.25mm thread pitch are simply not available in stainless in the metrically retarded US of A. (It's all 10X1.5mm, the SAE/DIN standard.) :headbang:
I have RR's extenders as well and like them, but agree that the way the hex wells rust sucks (the plastic covers supplied don't stay in place long and will disappear). Also, they can be a PITA to tighten, since sometimes when you move the mirror it loosens the connection where the extender connects to the bar mount--you then find your mirror flopping around.
What would be great is an extender with a friction ball mount that lets you loosen and tighten it in 360 degrees (like a RAM mount for GPS, cell phone, etc.). Then you get unlimited visibility and adjustment, with no loosening/locktite issues.

I'll add that early on, I cleaned out the rust with brake fluid and pipe-cleaners, and then made a little paper cone to shoot some black Rustoleum from a rattle can into the hex opening to cover/stop the rust. It took two people with blue locktite beforehand, however, to fully tighten the extenders. About six months and all is well, but I suspect that the extenders will loosen-up again.
